Composition in art is putting different visual elements together. Visual artists compose their work following sets of rules where the elements of art and design - line, shape, color, value, texture, form, and space - are organized according to art principles including balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, unity - and others, to communicate the intent of the artist. A successful piece of art is unified, while also having some variety created by areas of contrast and emphasis. A good composition draws the viewer in and then moves the viewer's eye across the whole piece of art and settling on the main subject. If you feel your art is boring or redundant, then some of the ideas explored in this panel should be tried!
