So you came to Combat Con, took a bullwhip handling class, and fell in love with the flow and feel! Who can blame you! Whips are awesome! But what now? Where do you start? What do you buy? And how the heck do you take care of it once you've got it? You start here! This class will explain the anatomy, structure, and characteristics of a high-quality whip with hands-on examples and demonstrations of what to look for and what to avoid in both fine leather and fine nylon whips. Students will get a chance to see and feel the difference between high-quality precision whips and "Whip-Like-Objects" (yes...there are "Mall Ninja" whips, just like there are "Mall Ninja" swords and knives. We'll walk through general care and maintenance of both nylon and leather bullwhips, and what to do and what to avoid to keep your high-quality whip in top-performing shape for years to come. Already have a whip? Bring it along! The instructor LOVES show-and-tell. We'll also have a couple more seasoned whip professionals and at least one artisan whip maker on-hand to bring more to the discussion and answer your questions. No special prerequisites or other gear are necessary to participate in this class.
