Being prepared for personal defense encompasses being able to fight in every environment and perhaps the most difficult and foreign to the vast majority is ground combat. This class, instructed by Senseis Chris Hein (Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Aikido) and Carmine Downey (Black Belt in Japanese Judo/Jiu Jitsu and MMA Coach) will cover the fundamentals of what you should do if you find yourself fighting for your life on the ground. You will learn the basic ground positions, best ways to escape those positions, what to do if your assailant is striking you, or even if they are armed. The focus of this class is on how to escape a dangerous ground fight situation and recover to standing as well as escaping from the most common submission. This class will be active, so come ready to work with comfortable clothes and soft shoes (no boots) and move. Class will be taught in a fun, explorative format and tie directly into the Personal Defense Track
