A Map Shows Maybes

Room 351A

Saturday May 26, 2018 - 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Cushing Library at Texas A&M University is currently showing an exhibit of items from its "Maps of Imaginary Places" Collection, a singular collection of hundreds of maps from fictional worlds that range from famous universes, like Oz, Westeros, Middle-earth, Narnia, Discworld and Hogwarts, to some that are perhaps less well known, like the 'Verse, the Twelve Colonies of Kobol, the Stillness and Skyrim. Our collection is designed to show the variety of ways in which cartography plays a role in fantasy, science fiction and fiction in general. Our panel will showcase images of many of the maps in the collection and discuss the intersection between fantasy and cartography.
