Shari Smith (aka Makeup Dr. Shari) graduated from the prestigious Vancouver Film School’s Makeup for Film and Television program in 2010. She then moved to Hollywood, Ca., where she worked for over five years honing her craft as a freelance special fx makeup artist on feature films, short films, music videos, commercials, web series and print media. She also worked in makeup fx houses to create and apply prosthetics and wigs. Here in Kansas City, Mo., she has worked on feature films and short films, as well as worked at local haunted attractions. Makeup Dr. Shari’s heart is in teaching and mentoring other makeup artists. She teaches special FX Makeup classes at US Toy & Magic. She has lead panel discussions and stage demos at Planet Comic Con since 2015 including Hollywood makeup fx tips and tricks and zombie makeup application.
