With the continual release of Rowling's new supplementary materials, it’s the perfect time to revisit what makes Harry Potter so enchanting. In this lecture, I will examine the effect and importance of the magical words in the Harry Potter series in relation to the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis, and how Rowling's development and integration of them affects both Harry and the reader's experience.
