It's been seen before. A newbie wanders into the area and asks a question, an easy simple one, and there's always "that" guy who proceeds to shame them. The newbie wanders off, possibly to never venture in again. Why are we still allowing this? Geeks have become increasingly mainstream, and we're no longer the niche society we once were. So why do we push back? Why do we not embrace new fans? This panel is going to get into the nitty gritty about why gatekeeping is causing strife in fandoms and giving geeks a bad name. We're going to discuss tactics to bring new fans in and help them engage in our worlds!
