Red Pearl, the CineSpace 2015 special category winner for film Best Depicting Benefits to Humanity follows the extraordinary story of a young Nigerian girl's unlikely journey to keep her mother's spirit alive. CineSpace, a short film competition presented by Houston Cinema Arts Society in partnership with NASA Johnson Space Center, is for films of 15 minutes or less that feature footage from over 50 years of NASA archives. Lead actress Uju Edoziem, Producer Molly Vernon, and Houston Cinema Arts Society Executive Director Trish Rigdon will be on hand to discuss the making of the film and CineSpace. Red Pearl cast also includes Jordan Lorenz, Troy Parker, Nia Johnson, Akili McDowell and Matthew Carter. Written and directed by Wayne Slaten.
