From Shorts To Features: Taking Your Film to the Next Level

Whether you are trying to make a short that will attract attention for your feature film or you want to just improve the quality of your next feature we have a team of experts to help you achieve it. The expert panel: GREG JEFFS, an NSI Features First alumni, has written and produced short films that have been broadcast, released theatrically and are available on iTunes. His short film, THE HUNT, was named the best short film of 2013 by RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE. His directorial debut, IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD premiered at the 2016 Horror Channel Fright Fest and continues to tour the worldwide festival circuit. Through his work with William F. White he helps new talent learn the industry procedures and develop a plan for production. ROBERT MCCALLUM, award-winning filmmaker, documenting subjects like video games, heavy metal, fanboy fanatics, and more. His work has garnered press attention from NBC, CBS, CBC Radio•One, CTV, WIRED, /Film, Destructoid and has appeared in dozens of film festivals. Known for out-of-the-box thinking and fierce determination, McCallum has raised over $350,000 via multiple crowdfunding campaigns and contributes his opinions to various online blogs, podcasts, and sites. CHRISTOPHER GIROUX, has been producing and directing a multitude of projects since graduating from Sheridan College in 2009. He began working as a producer with Black Fawn Films on music videos for an impressive list of musicians before moving on to work as production manager with Foresight Features. Between productions, he made his directorial debut with the short film 'Dead All Night' which screened in five countries around the world. Giroux has produced a host of horror-features and was the production manager for James Franco's art-house horror film Blood Theatre, along with producing music videos for The Trew, Big Wreck, Matthew Good among others. Giroux brought Scraps to the Forest City Film Fest last fall.
