It's been 4 decades since the end of the Vietnam War, and the beginning of the refugee journey for over a million people from Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. In this panel we provide a look at how comics have depicted this journey from the pages of Iron Man and G.I. Joe to G.B. Tran's award-winning Vietnamerica and the DC comics hero Katharsis. We ask what are the next directions, and how might we present compelling stories that expand upon our traditions.
