Film and the Final Frontier: Imagining New Possibilities for NASA Image Archives

Room 381B

Saturday May 26, 2018 - 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Houston Cinema Arts Society and NASA Johnson Space Center present a screening of the CineSpace 2017 short film competition finalists followed by a brief discussion. CineSpace, the Houston-based short film competition, is a collaboration between NASA and Houston Cinema Arts Society (HCAS) that offers filmmakers around the world a chance to share their work inspired by, and using, actual NASA imagery. All finalists are screened at the annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival in November, where the winners will be announced, awarded with $26,000 in total cash prizes. Houston Cinema Arts Society's Executive Director, Patrick Kwiatkowski, and NASA's Manager of International Partners, Dan Jacobs, will conduct a Q&A after the screening regarding submissions for CineSpace 2018.
