In the finale of Smallville, Lex Luthor told Clark Kent, “We have a destiny together, Clark . . . only on different sides.” Many people believe in a yin and a yang, an opposition to things, light versus dark. Could Lex be right? Is there such a thing as destiny that brought him to be Clark’s opposite. Or was it simply a series of tragic events that led to their becoming enemies?
