Music is a deadly as any murderer's weapon when making people scared at the movies. Some of Hollywood's most memorable soundtracks have been written for the horror genre. From Psycho to Halloween,Hermann to Carpenter, great (and accidentally great) composers have gone to even greater lengths to cleverly frighten audiences with everything from simple stabbing refrains, to rich thematic orchestral pieces that lurk in the shadows of popular culture. Our panel will discuss the history of horror movie soundtracks from the golden age of Hollywood to new modern classics and highlight the composers and pieces that have or will haunt us in a darkened theater.
