H.P. Lovecraft was a minor writer, producing occasional stories for the pulp magazines. So how have his conceptions of forbidden knowledge and incomprehensible entities become a recognizable part of pop culture? The panelists will look at how Lovecraft influenced on the horror fiction field, why Lovecraft's particular brand of cerebral terror fit into the "modern" culture of the 20th century, and how Cthulhu and his brethren have been "tamed" by inclusion in today's ironic zeitgeist.
