Friday September 7, 2018 - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Summary: Remarkably, a Journal of Educational Technology Systems piece in 2014 by Harry Pence related that “A child born in 2012 will leave a data footprint detailed enough to assemble a day-by-day, even a minute-by-minute, account of his or her entire life, online and offline, from birth until death.” Nearly 5 years later, we exist in a culture where technology is no longer just a tool, but has become infused into every facet of our lives. Today’s technology is exceedingly transformational, and can define who we are, how we are seen by our peers and customers, and how we manage and deliver our work. This dynamic shift has led to a growing demand for professionals who deliver with cross-functional business and technical aptitude in order to excel, as many leaders see the integration of digital, automation, and predictive analytics as a means for developing a competitive advantage. Professionals have to evolve faster, and more frequently, than any other time in history. The workplace of the future demands a persona rich in learning agility, flexibility, with a passion for continual self-development. As professionals, you will increasingly see a reduction in perfecting practice, and an increase in adaption and innovation. With this insight in mind, this panel-guided discussion will delve into the new digital workplace, and how professionals can position themselves to remain relevant, engaged, and focused on a growth-mindset for opportunities that haven’t even developed yet.
