EROTIC GROTESQUE NONSENSE: A History of Ero Guro (18+)

(LP 1) Pasadena Ballroom

Friday August 17, 2018 - 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm

Literature, art, music, and more have been influenced by the movement known as “ero guro”. The words erotic and grotesque take on new meanings here and create something unique in style and distinctly Japanese in execution. Join “A-to-J Connections” as we look at all aspects of ero guro such as the literature of “Edogawa Ranpo”, the often-cited “Abe Sada Incident” horror manga from the likes of “Junji Ito” and “Kazuo Umezu”, the art of “Suehiro Maruo” and “Shintaro Kago”, and and even the music genre founded by cali≠gari. Join us for a panel like no other with imagery you won’t soon forget!
