Sunday September 30, 2018 - 11:00 am to 11:45 am

Jon Brennan will discus the creation of a game soundtrack from the ground up that enhances and reinforces the user experience. He will discus how to identify the needs music can fulfill in your game and how to create a cohesive sound and music experience. Match Point (as shown in game expo) will be used as an example of concept, design and implementation of a soundtrack the reinforces both modern game play and retro style aesthetics. Jon will demonstrate how to manipulate basic synthesizer raw sounds (sine, saw, triangle) to create custom chiptune sound pallet. Live Match Point game play will demonstrate use of sounds and music in game. Jon is a music composer and sound designer specializing in gaming, advertising and film. He has composed music for several national brands, including Downy, Mentos, Southwest Airlines, and ADP. His film scores include internationally distributed feature films and documentaries. Jon has an MFA in Music Composition for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago. He is the founder and organizer of the monthly Cincinnati Production Meetup. As a guest lecturer, Jon enjoys sharing his passion for audio at Northern Kentucky University.
