Barbara Eden is an American film, stage, and television actress and singer. She is best known for her starring role of “Jeannie” in the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. In the 1950s and 1960s, Eden appeared in several films and television shows. Her first film role was in Back from Eternity in 1956. In 1957, she starred on TV in How to Marry a Millionaire, based on the movie by the same name. She was also featured in popular shows including I Love Lucy, Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, and Route 66. Eden’s most popular role came in 1965 when she was cast in a new sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie! She stepped into the role of the genie in the bottle, co-starring with Larry Hagman as NASA astronaut Major Anthony Nelson. After I Dream of Jeannie, Barbara’s career continued to soar with appearances on series like Dallas, Harper Valley PTA, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Army Wives in 2009.
