Science fiction presents the greatest opportunity to build new worlds and tell compelling stories. All too often, however, games, television, and movies tend to fall into the same tired tropes and stereotypes rather than creating their own unique setting. How can writers improve the believably and originality of their worldbuilding without sacrificing the audience’s understanding of their story?
