Carnival Horror

Creepy clowns, broken down carnivals, dark rides, and murders at circuses have been a constant landscape for the horror genre. We'll explore the blood-soaked trail left in the wake of these travelers with well known classics including: Freaks, Funhouse, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. We will also review the central figure to this setting: the killer clown, with such notable examples as Pennywise, Captain Spaulding and Twisty. Lesser known titles will be explored in this thorough examination, as well as a review of notable haunted attractions in California and how each has taken different approaches to the carnival horror theme.
