Fantasy and horror are rife with monsters, symbols of the unknown and mysterious Other. But do we really have to fear or fight that which is different? Or can we embrace it? Whether it's the Babadook becoming a gay icon, deliberate depictions of gay, lesbian, and trans monsters in Undertale, or the "devil panic" of Devilman: Undertale, recent media are full of examples of monsters who aren't monstrous, and that has much to do with growing acceptance of GSM people.
