For new writers and role-playing gamers of any age, we hope to present techniques for developing characters that have depth and emotional strength. This will discuss using the plot to draw out character growth, using simple descriptors to promote complex personalities, and thinking about how events alter personality. We hope that writers will gain new ideas for improving their creations and that role-playing gamers will find that their characters can actually direct were a campaign goes by having greater depth.
