Black Panther has shattered box office records and spurred discussion about the power of representation in popular culture. Although vibranium may be fictional, there is real physical science, social sciences, and humanities twists behind the world of Wakanda as depicted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Join Dr. Ella Maria Ray, professor of Africana Studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Dr. Charles Musiba, associate professor of anthropology at the University of Colorado Denver, and Dr. Ka Chun Yu, curator of space science at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for a panel discussion about the physical and social sciences behind the most culturally significant blockbuster film of 2018.
