13: The Astonishing Lives of the Neuromantics- Rebellion and Revolution In Comics

ROOM 502 - Comics

Sunday June 2, 2019 - 11:30 am to 12:20 pm

Yves Navant and Northwest Press will be debuting the graphic novel 13: The Astonishing Lives of the Neuromantics at Denver Pop Culture Con! The story confronts gender, sexuality, faith and spirituality, privilege and the subjugation of the underclass. The book is a semi-autobiographical tale set in a near future dystopia and examines the rebellion and the search for love and humanity in an utterly oppressive society. This panel serves not only as an introduction to the graphic novel, but also an interactive conversation about the aforementioned topics. Creator, author and illustrator Yves Navant, and publisher Zan Christensen will lead a discussion, while touching on seminal comic stories depicting rebellion, cultural/social evolution and the impact graphic novels have on society and social justice.
