How Comic Characters Leave Their Legacy

Every hero leaves behind a legacy. Those who are chosen versus others who take the mantle into their own hands. When a different character picks up the face of heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, or Spider-Man, this allows a new variety of stories to be told through that character's experiences and values. Our group will be using the mantle of Batman to explore the different stories that have arised when characters like Dick Grayson or Damian Wayne become the Batman, and how it relates to a larger social context such as representation in comic books and social issues. We'll also discuss the future of super heroes, their stories, and who could be the next to wear the cowl and shields of these iconic champions of justice, and the social issues they might explore.
