In the past, comic books have used crossdressing characters as plot devices, comic relief, objects of ridicule or even pity. Today we have a variety of transgender characters presented as supporting cast, trusted friends and even superheroes themselves. Join us as we take a look at how comic books have developed the role of transgender characters over the years from Madam Fatal and Ma Hunkle to Alysia Yeoh, a transgender woman who was Batgirl's roommate and best friend.
