Female heroines in comics and entertainment have been around since the 1950s. Yet the comic-verse continues to have a complicated relationship with its female characters. Originally targeted toward a predominately male readership, they're hyper-sexualized, stereotyped and often used as tokens. As female readership and consumers increase, is it time to adjust for the new generation? Or is feminism destroying the core base of the comic-verse? Do the girls reading the male-dominated comics want that world, or are they stuck craving more? Our panel addresses these questions and more!
