There is no doubt that one of the most popular and influential games of the last ten years is the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ series. This year Kyle Rowling brings his 40yrs of martial arts experience and 25yrs as a professional Fight Master to METROCON, with a unique series of classes, each one exploring a different weapon of handheld destruction. Fantasy Sword: Kyle has study dozens of historical sword systems over the years, swords from almost every country and every time period, and whilst historical accuracy is essential in the right situation, occasionally we just like to step out of the box, or into another galaxy. By combining everything he knows with a little touch of ‘exotic fantasy’, Kyle brings and exciting, insightful and fun to everyone with this class. Knife: True Assassin’s begin to hone their skills from a distance, as their skills progress, the distance between them and their target closes. The Knife is the epitome of ‘Close Quarters Combat’. It doesn’t get more personal than this. Once again, combining elements of realistic, martially sound and effective techniques, with the overriding principles of performance and entertainment, this class is a fast-paced, adrenaline filled, thrill ride. Flexible Weapons: (Chain) Flexible Weapons are classed as any item you can use to fight with that either bend or twist. That also makes them the hardest class to ‘master’, as unlike a sword, you do not have ultimate control of the entire weapon; meaning you can’t stop it if something goes wrong like you can a solid weapon. However, they are a lot of fun and allow you to do a whole bunch of really cool flips, twirls and spins. And mastering spins with a chain, is the best way to inform you of how every other weapon moves.
