Whether the story is a “Who done it?” or a “How done it,” its character count can be cumbersome. How does an author keep track of so many faces, and more important, how does an author ensure readers won’t get lost? Have mystery authors ever lost track of their characters? Has the “who” or the “how” every changed during the writing process?
