This participatory learning experience discusses the educational impact of comics when used effectively in classroom learning environments. The discussion will highlight the importance of comics for teaching and learning with students who are speakers or languages other than English in classrooms that are culturally and linguistically diverse. It will cover current research, classroom best practices, and the presenter’s ongoing research project in a culturally and linguistically diverse Miami Dade County High School.
