Art is more than a what makes a game look pretty; it’s an integral part of both the development process and the game experience players get to enjoy. Because decisions around the art in a game heavily impact how the game is played, game artists have to also be creative problem solvers, always looking for a way to make sure that the game ideas are presented clearly, that the game also feels juicy through art, and that the style of a game is coherent and consistent throughout the experience. In this talk, we are joined by some of the most creative game artists in South Florida. Having worked on multiple games with multiple art styles, they will share their experiences in the game art world and give you valuable tips on how to get started as well as what it takes to excel in the industry.The talk will also include topics such as:the purpose art serves in games, fundamental tools they use to achieve a desired experience: shape, color, and detail,importance of an art pipeline, and a quick overview of different types of game artists.
