In this course we will study OSL by examining how light interacts with the natural colors of the object which is lit and how to invoke the shadows that light casts to create a dynamic finished piece. Various types of OSL will be discussed. This ultimately will put us through a bit of color theory and a gauntlet of wet techniques. Fear not, for we will execute a figure captured in torchlight in the allotted class time regardless of your ability. We will be covering layering, dry brushing, and all wet techniques such as glazing, washes and even the elusive wet brushing technique!
