Panel Room 1

Saturday September 25, 2021 - 11:00 am to 12:45 pm

The Justice League of Queers is a social and environmental activist collective, with over 20,000 followers online, based around doing grassroots activism while dressed like super heroes. Facebook.com/JusticeLeagueOfQueers Co-founded by Victor, NY based activist and comedian Mike Gamms, The Justice League of Queers recently received national news attention in September 2019 after thwarting a KKK rally in Madison, Indiana while dressed as Spiderman. https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2019/09/01/counterprotesters-drive-kkk-from-indiana-park-dnt-vpx.wdrb Through creative, fun and cosplay inspired direct action, videos, online content, and "Stand Up Fight Back" discussion panels around the United States, The Justice League of Queers and it's members seek to spread their activist message through engaging ways. This panel would be a combination of discussion, video screening, and Q and A. The technical requirements would just be a working projector or screen to plug a laptop into and play videos. If selected for Flower City, co-founder Mike Gamms would facilitate the event, with other members of the collective or guests as well, depending on availability.
