Frank Herbert's Dune has been deemed unfilm-able almost as many times as it has been committed to film. Our panel will discuss the enduring legacy of the story of the iconic desert planet, Paul Muad'dib, and a world 10,000 years in the future. From the unfilmed but influential Jodorowsky project, to Lynch's controversial 1984 effort, the made for TV series, and the upcoming Villenueve revival , our panel will discuss what makes the Dune story so compelling and difficult to tell, why it remains so vital 40 years since the first film was attempted, and the development of Dune changed sci-fi cinema forever.
