H.P. Lovecraft is one of the undisputed masters of pulp horror. It is also undisputed that he expressed disturbing views on race, immigration and poverty in his writing. Author Matt Ruff tackled Lovecraft's conflicting legacies, especially in regards to race in his 2016 novel Lovecraft Country, which HBO brilliantly adapted for television. Our panel will discuss their collective love of cosmic horror, the TV series, the highs and lows of Lovecraft's work, and strategies for processing and coming to terms with problematic content in our fandom.
