'A Brief History of Unacknowledged Black Creators and Characters in Comicbooks'

Panel Room 3

Saturday April 8, 2017 - 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Black creators and characters have made huge contributions to the comic book field but far too many have gone unacknowledged. This Brief history (circa the early 1900's to the digital age) touches on some of major players that have influenced the field. Some you'll know but many you won't know until this lecture. It's a lively lecture told in an engaging style. We began giving the lecture in 2015 at conventions, art galleries, libraries and colleges and just last year (2016) it did so well we were invited to give it at the Library of Congress in our nations capital.
