When we write outside our own experience, we have extra responsibility for getting it right, for doing it well. How do you write characters who are different than you -- a different race, different sexual orientation, different gender identity, etc -- with respect and understanding? This panel will discuss ways of bringing authenticity to your diverse characters in a way that is positive, respectful, and understanding of the things that make us different and the things that make us similar.
