We sit down and talk with Author Guest of Honor Maurice Broaddus about his writing, life, and whatever else may come up. Maurice Broaddus is a fantasy, science fiction, and horror author best known for his short fiction and his Knights of Breton Court novel trilogy, as well as his steampunk novella Buffalo Soldier and his middle-grades detective novel The Usual Suspects. He has published dozens of stories in magazines and book anthologies, including in Asimov's Science Fiction, Black Static, Uncanny Magazine, Lightspeed Magazine, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Apex Magazine, and Weird Tales, and is working on an upcoming space opera trilogy from Tor Publishing. Broaddus was born in London, but grew up in Indianapolis, where he is a teacher and community organizer. His mother is from Jamaica, where she and many of his relatives still live.
