Comicpalooza 2022
In 2020, I set out to become a comic book writer but knew without any experience in the field, it would be an uphill battle. To better prepare, I spent a year and a half studying both successful and unsuccessful crowdfunding campaigns. What worked? What didn't work? What could be adapted and done differently to greater effect? That study culminated in my own successful Kickstarter, and the funding of my first full length comic. I want to share what I’ve learned, through both research and my own trial and error. We’ll cover the crowdfunding process from start to finish: defining the scope of your project, budgeting and investing in yourself, creating reward tiers for backers, how to effectively promote the campaign, navigating hidden costs, and more. These are the steps to assist in getting you funded!
