Viera Comics would love to share its success story with fans at Supercon and inform them how they can utilize cosplay to make a positive impact on their community.
Viera Comics incorporates cosplay into every event at our comic book shop to network with likeminded fans across Florida. We consistently host costume contests, in-character raffles, Drink 'N Draws, cosplay design and makeup sessions, and video shoots. Since fusing cosplay with the comic book shop's operations, we more than doubled the size of our popular cosplay-themed YouTube channel from roughly 12,000 subscribers to nearly 30,000 subscribers within 1 year (Our channel is called Make 'Em Laugh Films: youtube.com/MakeEmLaughFilms). Additionally, we have partnered with many organizations in central Florida to incorporate our cosplays into charity events. Our fundraisers have benefited the charity organizations such as the guardian ad litem program and the humane society. At each of our comic book store events and fundraisers, it is always most rewarding to see a fan's reaction when they encounter their favorite character.
