In this double-length class, we will learn how to create the illusion of metallic objects and surfaces with non-metallic paints (“non-metallic metal”, or NMM for short). We will do this primarily through a thoughtful application of light theory augmented with a significant amount of blending. I will paint an example miniature while giving you step-by-step instructions and feedback as you follow along. NMM is a more advanced technique that requires some amount of blending skill to pull off reliably, so I would generally discourage beginners from attending to avoid unnecessary discouragement. For those who consider themselves up to the challenge, please bring your favorite brush (preferably a good Kolinsky sable one) and tons of zeal for learning!
