When California shut down all but essential services on March 19, 2020, Maker Nexus, a nonprofit makerspace, had been open less than a year. Suddenly, we faced an existential crisis. One week later, with the help of our community, we were delivering hospital approved, sterilizable and reusable face shields to grateful, exhausted, medical professionals.
