This panel discussion will be presented by members of the Florida Dalek Builders Brigade. It will include several Daleks on display in various stages of construction which we’ll bring from our booth. There be a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation where we present detailed information on the classic construction techniques so that virtually anyone who can use basic hand power tools will be able to construct a full-size, operator-on-the-inside, mobile Dalek. It will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A session where guests will be invited to inspect panel member’s Daleks to see how the various construction methods are accomplished and ask any construction questions they may have. Information on where to obtain some of the more difficult-to-acquire, screen accurate parts used by the BBC prop teams will also be provided. In addition to the traditional construction methods, we’ll also discuss how to use everything from a 3D printer to even using just using all cardboard to make a Dalek.
