Jim Shooter is an American writer, editor and publisher for various comic books. He started professionally in the medium at the age of 14, writing for DC Comics and he is most notable for his successful run as Marvel Comics' ninth editor-in-chief in the 1980s and for writing Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, and his work as editor in chief of Valiant Comics, as well as Defiant and Broadway Comics.
