Sacrificed, Berserk’s End?

Panel Room 1

Friday June 16, 2023 - 4:00 pm to 4:50 pm

In May of 2021, the world lost a beloved creative force when Kentaro Miura passed away, leaving his magnum opus of “Berserk” unfinished. Even though Miura’s dead, Guts, Caska, Griffith, and the rest of the motley crew of Berserk still live on. Join us as we explore exactly what Miura’s death means for Berserk, if it has a future, and how it left its very specific brand on pop culture. We want to try to entice as much open discussion as possible here. The fandom joked for years of Miura dying before he could finish Berserk and he did. Berserk means a lot of things to a lot of different people, and now there’s this huge possibility that it’s over. There are questions about the lore of Berserk that hadn’t been outright answered as well as the story not truly ending, and we want to discuss that. We also want to talk about the adaptations of Berserk, the good, bad, and the CGI disasters. Is a good Berserk adaptation even possible? We also want to delve deep into what the audience thinks what would make a good adaptation. And will we see any more of Berserk after Miura’s tragic passing. We want a lot of open discussion, not just a lecture on what Berserk is/was/what it will be, and want to hear what other fans of the series has to say after this tragic event. Plus we want to give Berserk one hell of a wake; it deserves it after all.
