What sorts of things were available to read or hear when our favorite combat treatises were new? I will read aloud from published translations of fourteenth to sixteenth century sources including excerpts from chronicles, histories, and entertaining stories. I will read up to 3 excerpts from English translations of primary sources out loud, and answer questions as best I can. We can work together to choose what the readings will be; past storytimes have featured documents from France and Germany in the 14th and 15th centuries about sex comedy, miracles, and battle with a connecting theme of empowering women.
