Defense Dans La Rue and Bare Knuckle Boxing Evasions, Stop-Hits and Counters

This class will teach evasions using body movement and footwork, and stop-hit techniques against a variety of Savate and Boxing attacks and classic counters (hits, kicks, grappling, throws) from early eras of Boxing and Savate. Required Gear Closed-toe shoes. Class Length 1 Hour 30 Minutes Class Level Introductory, Beginners, Intermediate Defense Dans La Rue (DDLR) is a term applied to various systems of personal combat developed in France from the end of the 18th century through the beginning of the 20th century and was used for urban street defense against street criminals and gangs. It combined Savate (kicking using the closed-toe shoe as a weapon), various hand techniques (open-handed attacks and boxing), wrestling (Lutte Parisienne - the predecessor to modern Roman Greco), and various weapons that could be either concealed or legally carried on the street (cane, bludgeon/sap, knife, gun, etc).
