This panel will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the Dune Expanded Universe as compared to the original series, with a critical discussion of the books by Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson as compared to the original works by Frank Herbert and a focus on character development, writing styles, story lines, etc. We'll also discuss what's next in the Dune Universe and how it can avoid a Star Wars Episodes 1-3 crash-and-burn (provided that it hasn't already).
