Bayonet & Musket Vs. Sabre

The bayonet attached to a firearm was/is the primary melee weapon of soldiers since its adoption. This class will examine common bayonet techniques and tactics from the Napoleonic wars, WW2 combatives, and beyond. Including guards, strikes, parries, bayonet vs bayonet fencing, and lastly how to counter a bayonet with a sword or sabre, easier said than done! Time allowing, a short intro to sabre techniques will be included, then exercises and controlled sparring pitting bayonet vs. sabre armed participants.
