Robots Among Us: Are We Ready?

Room 230ABC

Saturday April 22, 2017 - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

We have spent our whole lives imagining what the future will hold for us in terms of robotics; what will they look like, how will they act, and most importantly, what will they do? Today robots have seamlessly integrated themselves into our daily lives in the forms of self-driving cars, connected devices and even cellphones. The early 21st century saw the first wave of companion social robots, thanks largely to the smart phone, and a new wave of social robots has started, with humanoids like Pepper. Featuring the innovators on the cutting edge of robotic design, this panel will discuss how robots are being used to provide friendly, cooperative services in healthcare, education, transportation, companionship and business. Come and hear from the experts who are paving this new path and how fantasy will be brought to life.
